The Staff Accountant is a key team member within ACG responsible for performing accounting functions that include accounts payable and receivable posting, check printing, deposit posting and cash management.
Additional responsibilities include resolving vendor issues, maintaining accurate vendor files, and grant reporting.
The incumbent is responsible for approving and processing an accurate bi-weekly payroll.

ACG has a 35-hour work week.
The schedule is Monday to Friday, 9AM to 4PM.
This is a hybrid role.

org/ * Process outgoing and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures * Set up invoices for payment, track expenses and process expense reports * Post transactions to journals, ledgers and other records * Reconcile accounts payable transactions * Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date * Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues * Maintain vendor files and track insurance certificates.
Follows up on needed certificates * Review all vendor and independent contractor invoices for proper documentation, coding, and approvals.
Timely records all vendor invoices into the accounting system.
* Maintain W-9 documentation for independent contractors * Assist with the preparation of 1099 forms * Records daily receipts and posts journal entries to QuickBooks * Assist with monthly and quarterly closing * Provide supporting documentation for audits * Conduct banking/ cash management, including transfers among accounts to cover payroll and invoices * Process payroll by verifying timekeeping records in Paylocity, consult with employees and their managers about any discrepancies and process transfer with Paylocity * Respond to Garnishment requests, Unemployment requests and requests for Earnings information * Assist with budget set up related to Grants Management * Provide fiscal support on grants, including billing, and assist Grants Management team with funding agency’s requirements * Keep current with trends and developments related to essential job competencies and demonstrate continued growth * Maintain confidentiality of organizational information * Support the ACG team to reach common goals * Ensuring compliance with government mandated tax and reporting requirements * Assist in the improvement of internal accounting processes and procedures * Other duties as assigned *Requirements* * Associate degree in Accounting or related field required; Bachelor degree in Accounting or related field and additional, related certifications are a plus * Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles * Previous work experience as Staff Accountant or Accounts Payable and/ or Receivable * Experience working in non-profit accounting and grants management * Knowledge of government funding compliance * Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records * Strong data entry skills along with a knack for numbers * Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and QuickBooks accounting software * High degree of accuracy and attention to detail * Ensures deadlines are met on a consistent basis * Demonstrates satisfactory performance on identified outcome measures * Possesses solid communication and analytical skills * Ability to use computers, keyboards and mouse to enter, access or retrieve data * Ability to use photocopiers and scanners Job Type: Full-time Pay: $30.
