GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE
Under the direction of the Controller, this position handles a variety of accounting tasks pertaining to domestic and international business.
This position is responsible for ensuring that invoices are processed and that the business stays in compliance with sales tax returns and annual reporting.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION
Prepare sales tax returns for various states and localities.
Manage Accounts Receivable including collections.
Process Accounts Payable and related requests.
Prepare postings for I/C transactions and reconcile I/C at period end.
Reconcile Balance Sheet Accounts.
Process accruals for Revenue, Packaging Materials, and other Misc.
accounts.
Prepare Tangible Assets Tax Return for various states.
Maintain logs and trackers as needed.
Process data and transactional entries for multiple legal entities.
Create new vendors.
Process checks requests.
Other duties as assigned
Required Skills
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skill And Experience Requirements)
Must have experience in Accounting or related field, or relevant corporate financial reporting experience.
Must have some work experience in Agriculture industry is desirable.
Organization skills with strong sense of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to analyze data and provide creative solutions.
Strong computer skills in PC and midrange environments.
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), procedures and application.
Ability to work independently and meet all required deadlines.
Must have the ability to make decisions, appear for work on time, follow directions,
Must be comfortable with interacting with co-workers, understand and follow posted work rules/procedures and to accept constructive criticism.
Bilingual(English and Spanish) preferred

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION
Some college preferred in area of Accounting or Finance.
High School diploma required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk or hear.
The employee must occasionally lift (including overhead) and/or up to 15 lbs.
WORK HOUR REQUIREMENT
Ability to work overtime and occasionally weekends as needed.
