Who she is:
She thrives on connection, learning, and a love for exploring the world in her unique way.
She is resilient, and determined to make her voice heard.
She communicates using a letterboard and keyboard.
You will be trained during your time with her to assist her in using these essential communication tools.
Who you are:
* Compassionate and capable, enthusiastic and reliable.
* Patient and experienced: You understand the nuances of autism and can navigate challenges with grace.
* Comfortable with supporting a non-speaker: She wants to listen and engage with you.
* Highly qualified: Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, Special Education, Counseling or Social Work (BCBAs and RBTs also welcome).
Responsibilities:
* Train with her and a practitioner to become her communication partner.
* Empower her independence: Support her participation in activities she loves, from movies and music to volunteering and community events.
* Structure and support: Help her thrive with daily routines and tasks and navigate life's challenges with confidence.
* Respect her decisions about her life, her beliefs and the support she receives.
What We Offer:
* Flexible schedule: 8-12 hours per week, weekdays, tailored to your needs.
* Competitive compensation: $27-30/hour.
